CHRISTOPHE CLARET SOPRANO

Christophe Claret owes his passion for horology to his discovery of pocket-watches, which he used to repair and restore. Ever since, he has continued collecting these wonderful mechanisms from a bygone era, focusing his attention on minute repeaters with their highly distinctive structures. Charles X bridges particularly inspired Christophe Claret, who has given them a contemporary twist in this model.

The Soprano watch associates two of the finest horological complications: a 60-second tourbillon and a minute repeater with Westminster chime, four patented cathedral gongs and four hammers, highlighted by stepped bridges inspired by the Charles X style. This exceptional calibre is housed inside a round case subtly marrying precious metals and titanium. Tradition and modernity are united in this creation, entirely in keeping with the demands of ultra high-end watchmaking developed by the Manufacture Claret.

Hours and minutes. 4-note minute repeater playing Westminster chime. Transparent mainspring barrel acting as a movement state-of-wind indicator: when the movement is fully wound the spring is centered in the barrel.

FEATURES
Christophe Claret is a pioneer in making movement components from sapphire crystal. He was the first to develop a movement with sapphire plates and bridges in 1997. Extremely sensitive to the appeal of historical watches, notably those of the Charles X period, he drew inspiration from them in designing the bridges of this calibre.

Distinctive features: Four visible hammers, four patented cathedral gongs. Repeater mechanism featuring silent inertia governor. Tourbillon regulator with parachute shock absorber. Charles X style stepped bridges.
